Oh, such a strange picture! For me at least. Yesterday I decided to climb a mountain. I went out at 1pm because here in the usually sunny Los Angeles it was a lovely, rainy, overcast day…perfect light! But about 10 minutes into my drive to my location the sun burst through the clouds and I wasn’t able to shoot in direct sunlight. I drove back home and waited until my usual shoot time of 4:00 and then set out.
I never know with my locations if I’m allowed to be there or not. It seems like everyone owns everything and no one wants to let me take pictures on their dirt. So I RAN up the mountain in an effort not to get caught. I am really out of shape, wow. Anytime I do something like that…or anytime I shoot alone even, I feel so energized and excited about photography. I feel like anything is possible. And this image, while it is way beyond my comfort zone, became possible because I pushed myself to do something I normally wouldn’t.
Miss Aniela and I opened up a third date for UK workshops (February 2), this time in London in a studio. Our theater workshops on the 29th and 30th are going fast, but there are still some spaces left for the January 19th workshop in LA and February 2nd in London.
